Dr. Andy Villemez is a composer, educator, and performer based in Cincinnati, OH where he teaches piano and piano pedagogy at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and also serves as faculty advisor for the CCM MTNA Collegiate Chapter. He has previously served as the Chair of Secondary Piano and Piano Pedagogy at CCM and also as adjunct professor of piano and piano pedagogy at the University of North Florida. 

Andy has presented lectures and workshops nationally, including the national conferences of the Music Teachers National Association and state conferences of the Ohio Music Teachers Association. He has served as guest lecturer at a variety of schools and institutions in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

As a composer and arranger, his works have been praised for having their variety in style, affect, and level. He has been commissioned to write works by concert pianists, Cincinnati Public Radio, and regional piano competitions. His most notable pieces come from a set of preludes for solo piano based on everything from contemporary R&B to everyday emotions. Entitled Book of Odes, pianists both young and professional have performed these pieces in major cities across the United States and Canada.

Andy earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Masters of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He received scholarships for his work as a graduate assistant in Musical Theater (2011-2012) and Secondary Piano and Piano Pedagogy (2012-2015). In 2014, he was named head graduate assistant of Secondary Piano giving him valuable leadership, curriculum development, and administrative experience. He studied piano with Eugene and Elisabeth Pridonoff while also studying piano pedagogy with Michelle Conda and composition with Ellen Harrison and Haerim Sok. 

Andy also spent four years in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. He studied piano with Craig Nies, chamber music with Amy Dorfman, and piano pedagagy with Karen Ann Krieger. He performed in masterclasses for Emanuel Ax, Robert Mann, Margot Garrett, Garrick Ohlsson, and James Dunham. In 2010, He received the Blair School of Music Collaborative Piano Award for his work with several chamber groups, and he was also invited to join the National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda.

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Andy currently lives in Cincinnati, OH with his wife, Julie.
